Dear MMS Families –

I hope that you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and a restful weekend! Here are a few details about things happening at Martin Middle School.

  • Mrs. Pimentel and Mr. Rappa are pleased to announce that members of the MMS Band and the MMS Chorus have been named to All-State ensembles. This year, nearly 2,000 students from around the state auditioned for the very limited spots. We are extremely proud that our students were selected as among the top music students in Rhode Island! All-State Band: Liliana Bolarinho, Billy Roche Junior All-State Mixed Chorus: Rami Aldine, Elijah Barber, Tommy Cox, Jacob Langille, Ethan Lathrobe Junior All-State Treble Chorus: Gayatri Buchta, Abigail Leite, Nini Mai, Thaliah Resende.
  • The Martin Middle School PTA is promoting some upcoming events and fundraisers. Paint Night will take place on Friday December 8 at 7:00 PM. The event is $20/person and everyone is invited. Bring some friends and make a night of it! Contact Heather Church at (401) 572-6879 or hcurch@gmail.com if you are interested in attending. The PTA is also sponsoring a SkyZone gift card sale. • Chartwells, our food services provider has weekly menus available on the Nutrislice website. They also offer a mobile app that lists menu offerings and nutrition information.
  • On Tuesday, there will be a Mentoring period. Mentoring is a weekly opportunity for every student at MMS to work with an adult to set and review goals and check their progress in Skyward. Parents and guardians are asked to talk to their child about mentoring and SMART goals. Parents are also encouraged to login to Skyward frequently to keep up to date with student grades and attendance. Click here for information about downloading the Skyward mobile app.
